The petitioner-Sri Sri Sri Pydithalli Ammavari Seva Samithi is represented by its president-Nakka Prasada Rao. The petitioner-Samithi decided to organise a three day jatara from 16th to 18th of January, 2014. Earlier, Nakka Prasada Rao was Sarpanch of Geddakancharam Village. Apprehending that rival parties in the village may affect the peace and
tranquillity and harm the devotees, who visit the jatara, he submitted a representation to the Superintendent of Police, Srikakulam District on 23.12.2013 to make bandobasth arrangements during the said period. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that so far no orders are passed on the said representation and that since jatara date is approaching, it is necessary for the police to respond on the representation dated 23.12.2013 and therefore, a direction be issued to the Superintendent of police, Srikakulam to take a decision on the representation dated 23.12.2013 and communicate the same to the petitioner immediately.
Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the Writ Petition is disposed of without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case directing the Superintendent of Police, Srikakulam District-2nd respondent to take a decision on the representation dated 23.12.2013 and communicate the decision to the petitioner immediately, at any rate within one week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.
Consequently, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
