VRS, J & NBY, J W.P.No.10944 of 2018 HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE V. RAMASUBRAMANIAN AND HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE N. BALAYOGI Writ Petition Noa.10944 of 2018 ORDER: (V. Ramasubramanian, J) The petitioner, who belongs to the Scheduled Caste community, came up with the above writ petition, challenging the allotment of a seat made to him under the Open Category, without considering his case for allotment to a better course in the Post Graduate stream treating him as a reserved category.
2. On 06-04-2018, when the writ petition came up for orders as to admission, this Court passed an order to the following effect: "The grievance of the petitioner is that on account of being more meritorious, the petitioner, who belongs to the Scheduled Caste Community, was allotted a seat in a particular course under the General Category. As a consequence, the person, who is less meritorious than the petitioner among the scheduled Caste Community, is offered a seat in a better course.
Therefore, there will be an interim direction to permit the petitioner to participate in the second round of counseling."
3. Today, Mr. T. Lakshmi Narayana, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the petitioner was allotted a seat in DEG. General Surgery in Kurnool Medical College, Kurnool. Therefore, the grievance of the petitioner stands redressed and no further orders are required.
Accordingly, the writ petition is closed. The allotment of the seat in DEG. General Surgery to the petitioner shall be taken to be
VRS, J & NBY, J W.P.No.10944 of 2018 final. As a sequel thereto, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed.
