THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE V. RAMASUBRAMANIAN CIVIL REVISION PETITION NO.3611 of 2016 ORDER:

The limited prayer in this revision is to direct the Election Tribunal to dispose of the Election Petition which is pending for three years.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner. Normally the tenure of an elected member is only five years. The Election Petition was filed in 2013. the Courts have impressed upon the need to dispose of the Election Petitions expeditiously. Therefore, the Civil Revision Petition is disposed of directing the Election Tribunal to take up the Election O.P, hear the parties and after allowing them to adduce evidence, dispose it of within a period of three months. There shall be no order as to costs. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
