This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, is filed by the petitioners/ A.1 and A.2, seeking to quash the proceedings in Crime No.54 of 2017 on the file of the Kulkacherla Police Station, Ranga Reddy District, registered for the offences under Sections 341, 324, 323 of I.P.C. and 3(1)(s)(r) of The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners/ A.1 and A.2, learned Assistant Public Prosecutor representing the 1st respondentState and perused the record. 3 .

In the course of submissions, it is contended that the de-facto complainant has got some land at Deepla Naik Tanda, Hamlet of Salveed Village of Kulkacherla Mandal, Vikarabad District. When she was ploughing the land to sow groundnut seeds, the petitioners/ A.1 and A.2 intervened, abused her in the name of caste, beat her and stopped the tractor which was ploughing the field. The de-facto complainant said to have suffered bleeding injuries. On a report lodged by her, this case is registered for the offences under Sections 341, 324, 323 of I.P.C. and 3(1)(s)(r) of The Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. 4 .

Admittedly, both the petitioners/ A.1 and A.2 are women. The petitioners/ A.1 and A.2 are also claiming subject land, which is said to be in dispute. Having regard to the nature of allegations leveled against the petitioners/ A.1 and A.2, the investigation has to go on to find out the truth or otherwise of the allegations made in the report

- 2 - lodged with the police on 24.08.2017. However, the police concerned shall not arrest the petitioners/ A.1 and A.2, pending investigation. They can complete the investigation and file charge-sheet or final report, as the case may be.

With the above direction, this Criminal Petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this Criminal Petition, shall stand closed.
