THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO CONTEMPT CASE No.2519 OF 2015 ORDER:

This Contempt Case is filed under Sections 10 to 12 of the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 to punish the respondent for willful disobedience of order, dated 11.3.2008, in W.P.No.4658 of 2008 of this Court.

It is brought to the notice of this Court by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the respondent Corporation has paid an amount of Rs.2,40,30,468/- towards payment of compensation and the same was received by the petitioners under protest on 13.01.2017; that the petitioners are making a representation before the competent authority for higher compensation and hence, requested to close the present contempt case. To that effect, he has also filed a letter, dated 10.02.2017, before the Registry. Learned counsel further requested to close the contempt case with liberty to the petitioners to file a fresh writ petition.

Recording the submission of the learned counsel for the petitioners, the Contempt Case is closed with liberty to the petitioners to file a fresh writ petition. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, in this Contempt Case shall stand closed.
