When the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner has retired from service and he is challenging the orders of promotion in favour of the 5th respondent. This Court having considered the said submission is of the view that the cause in the writ petition does not survive. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous.
