K.Giri Babu v. The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board
THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE P.NAVEEN RAO WRIT PETITION NO.13028 OF 2017 ORDER:
1.
The petitioner, belonging to Ranga Reddy District, responded to the recruitment notification dated 31.12.2015 for the post of Stipendiary Cadet Trainee (SCT) Police Constable. The petitioner claims that he belongs to Scheduled Caste category. According to the petitioner, he secured 83.5 marks and the last cut off mark prescribed is 88.5. The petitioner claims that he possess Light Motor Vehicle Driving License (LMVDL), which carries 5% weightage marks and if this 5% marks are added, he would have been selected.
2.
Learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submits that the petitioner did not produce the original certificate of LMVDL at the time of verification of documents and therefore, weightage marks were not awarded to him.
3.
Learned counsel for the petitioner does not dispute the fact that the petitioner did not produce the original certificate of LMVDL at the time of verification of documents but having secured a copy, he produced it later.
4.
As per the instructions specified in the notification, it is mandatory for a candidate to produce all the original documents at the time of verification of documents and if the original documents are not produced, it will be recorded as 'not produced' and no credence will be given to the candidate on that score. In the instant case, since it is not in dispute that the petitioner did not produce the original LMVDL, I do not see any illegality in the
respondents not awarding 5% weightage marks as required in the notification. Therefore, I see no merit in the Writ Petition. 5.
The Writ Petition is, accordingly, dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending shall stand dismissed.
