Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Government Pleader for Revenue appearing for the respondents. 2.
According to petitioners then Maharaja of Pitapuram gifted land to an extent of Ac.2.20 guntas in Sy.No.239 of Tammavaram Village, in the name of father of the petitioners and ever since they have been in possession and enjoyment. In the year 1954 the said land was classified as Gramakantam and later as Zeroithi, having regard to their claim of possession and enjoyment for long time. Consequent to grant of land by then Maharaja, petitioners submitted several representations to mutate their names in the revenue records. Alleging inaction on the said representations, this writ petition is filed.

A copy of the representation submitted to the District Collector is filed at Page No.29 and no date is available on the same. However there is endorsement on the left side of the representation by the District Collector. If that is so, the District Collector is directed to consider the representation submitted by the petitioners and pass appropriate orders as warranted by law and furnish suitable reply to the petitioners within a period of eight
(8) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of this order. It is made clear that what is directed here is only examination of the representation strictly in accordance with law.

With the above directions, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
