THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO CRIMINAL PETITION No.2554 of 2016 ORDER:

This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 Cr.P.C., is filed by the petitioner - Accused seeking to quash the proceedings initiated against him in FIR No.3 of 2016 on the file of Women Police Station, Visakhapanam.

Heard and perused the material available on record. The offences alleged against the petitioner are punishable under Sections 498-A IPC and 3 & 4 of the dowry Prohibition Act. The allegations made against the petitioner are so serious in nature. Hence, this Court is not inclined to quash the proceedings against the petitioner in the above crime. However, if the petitioner apprehends arrest, he is at liberty to approach the appropriate Court for grant of anticipatory bail.

Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. Miscellaneous petitions pending if any, shall stand closed. ______________ RAJA ELANGO, J February 26, 2016.
