This writ petition is filed, by the Khanapur Gram Panchayath, Adilabad District, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to declare the Circular Memo No.492/ K5.Pts/ 2007, dated 23-08-2007 issued by the 9th respondent as well as Letter dated 03-09-2007 issued by the 6th respondent to the Executive Officer of the 1st petitioner-Khanapur Grampanchayat demanding to pay Rs.15,27,360/ - towards outstanding consumption charges and the inaction of the respondent Nos.1 to 6 in not complying with the letter, dated 08-10-2007 addressed by the 4th respondent to the 6th respondent as illegal and arbitrary.

2. The case of the petitioners is that the Government of Andhra Pradesh had issued G.O.Rt.No.1885, PR&RD(MDLS.I) Department, dated 09-11-2005 wherein the Government decided to release an amount of Rs.100 Crores to all Gram Panchayats towards consumption charges dues by all Gram Panchayats in favour of A.P Transmission Corporation of A.P Limited, but as of filing the writ petition, the Government have not released the said amount. While the matter stood thus, the respondents authorities have issued a notice impugned herein demanding the petitionerGram Pancahyat to pay an amount of Rs.15,27,360/ - towards outstanding consumption charges.

3. When the matter is listed for 'final hearing', it is brought to the notice of this Court by Sri Zakir Ali Danish, learned Standing Counsel for respondent Nos.2 to 4, based on the instructions received through letter in DEE/ OP/ NKL/ Tech.,/ D.NO.1259/ 17-18,

of the Divisional Engineer, Electrical, Operation/ TSNPDCL, Nirmal, dated 10.02.2018, that outstanding arrears of street lights/ RWS services of the petitioner-Khanapur Gram Panchayat are accumulated from Rs.15,27,360/ - as on July-2007 to Rs.29.69 lakhs as on July,2009 and thus the total amount of Rs.29.69 lakhs was paid in March,2009 by the Government and,therefore, the cause in the present writ petition stands redressed.

4. While placing the above letter on record, this writ petition is closed. No order as to costs.

5. Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, in this writ petition shall stand closed.
