THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE M.SATYANARAYANA MURTHY CRIMINAL PETITION No.4044 OF 2018 ORDER:

This criminal petition, under Section 437 and 439 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (for short 'Cr.P.C.'), is filed by the petitioners, who are A.2 & A.3 in Crime No.702 of 2017 of Padamata Police Station, Vijayawada District, registered for the offence punishable under Section 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(c) of NDPS Act, to enlarge them on bail. The petitioners are languishing in jail since 03.10.2017. The petitioners allegedly involved in the above crime while transporting 850 kgs., of ganja, which is commercial quantity as per the Schedule and after completion of investigation, the police filed charge sheet, and it was numbered as S.C. No.114 of 2018 by the I Additional Sessions Judge -cum- Special Judge for Trial of NDPS cases, Vijayawada.

The learned counsel for the petitioners, though claimed bail raising several contentions, during hearing, requested this Court to direct the Sessions Judge to dispose of the Sessions case at the earliest. In view of the request made by the counsel for the petitioners, without touching the merits of the case, I deem it appropriate to direct the Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Vijayawada, to dispose of S.C. No.114 of 2018 as expeditiously as possible in any event not later than 6 months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
