ORDER

This writ petition is filed seeking to issue a writ of Certiorari calling for the records relating to and connected with the Award dated 22.02.2008 passed in I.D.No.25 of 2007 by the Labour Court-I, Hyderabad and to quash or set aside the same by holding it as arbitrary and illegal. Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that while allowing the ID, the Labour Court ought to have granted back wages and attendant benefits by exercising its power under Section 11-A of the Act and that the Labour Court had erroneously denied the back wages and attendant benefits.

Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent-Corporation contends that in pursuance of the order passed by the Labour Court, the petitioner was reinstated into service and after attaining the age of superannuation, he retired from service.

Having considered the rival submissions made by the learned counsel on either side, this Court is of the considered view that the Labour Court has rightly passed the order in favour of the petitioner by declining to grant back wages and

attendant benefits. Unless a grave irregularity or illegality has been pointed out by the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the Award passed by the Labour Court. There are no merits in the writ petition and the same is liable to be dismissed.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed.
