This petition is filed seeking for quash of the proceedings against the petitioner, who is A1, in Crime No.246 of 2013 on the file of Neredmet Police Station, Cyberabad.

The offences alleged against the petitioner are under Sections 498A, 419 and 420 IPC.

Heard the counsel for the petitioner and the Public Prosecutor appearing for the 1st respondent. None appears for the 2nd respondent in spite of notice.

The Public Prosecutor files a memo stating that the matter has been compromised between the parties before the Lok Adalat on 09.07.2013.

Hence, in view of the above, this court opines that continuation of further proceedings against the petitioner would be an abuse of process of law.

Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is allowed and the proceedings against the petitioner, who is A1, in Crime No.246 of 2013 on the file of Neredmet Police Station, Cyberabad are hereby quashed.

As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any pending, shall stand closed.
