Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and learned Government Pleader for Revenue appearing for the respondents. 2.

Petitioners submit that they applied for ryotwari pattas to the 2nd respondent under the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh (Andhra Area) Inams (Abolition and Conversion into Ryotwari) Act, 1956 (for short, 'the Act') and contend that the 2nd respondent has not passed any orders on their applications.

Learned Government Pleader for Revenue appearing for the respondents sought time for obtaining instructions. 4.

Since it is the statutory duty of the 2nd respondent to entertain and decide the applications filed under Section 7 of the Act, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the 2nd respondent to act in accordance with the provisions of the Act, issue notices to all the affected parties and take appropriate decision on the applications of the petitioners for issuance of ryotwari pattas, referred to above, within a period of three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, filed in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
