K.Sujatha,Sainikpuri, Secunderabad v. The Registrar, Osmania University,Hyderabad And Another
HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN WRIT PETITON No.22392 of 2011 ORDER:
The relief sought for in this Writ Petition is for a mandamus to declare the action of the Director of Admissions, Osmania University in sending the petitioner out from the Counselling centre at Nizam College, Hyderabad on 04.08.2011 without giving him admission into the course of Master of Physical Education, either under the non-local quota or the sports quota or the general quota, despite having 5th rank in the P.G. Entrance Test conducted on 15.06.2011, as arbitrary and illegal. A consequential direction is sought to the respondents to consider the petitioner for admission into the Master of Physical Education course under the non-local quota.
By way of interim relief the petitioner sought a direction to the respondents to consider her case for admission into the Master of Physical Education course either under the non-local quota of 15% or under the sports quota. Interim directions, as prayed for, was granted by order in WPMP No.27333 of 2011 dated 09.08.2011. As the Master of Physical Education course is said to be a two year course, admissions for the two year academic course would have been completed in 2011, and the course itself would have come to an end in 2013 nearly five years ago. It is evident, therefore, that the cause in the Writ Petition does not survive necessitating any further adjudication by this Court.
The Writ Petition has become infructuous and is, accordingly, dismissed. The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
