CRIMINAL PETITION NO. 17190 OF 2016 O R D E R :

This Criminal Petition is filed by the petitioner/A-1 and under section 437 and 439 of Cr.P.C., seeking to enlarge him on bail in Crime No. 25 of 2016 of Maredumilli Police Station, East Godavari district, registered for the offences under section 8 [c] read with section 20 [b] [ii] [c] of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

2. Heard the learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner/A-1 and the learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing on behalf of the State.

3. Keeping in view the huge quantity of ganja weighing 709 KGs seized in the lorry bearing No. AP-31-DE-6186 and Maruti Suzuki Ritz Car bearing No. AP-09-CK-4380, which is much more than the commercial quantity, therefore, section 37

of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 comes into play.

4. Finding no merit, the Criminal Petition is dismissed.

5. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions if any, pending in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed.
