Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel for APSRTC appearing for respondents 1 to 3.

This writ petition is filed seeking to declare the action of the respondents in not considering the case of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate grounds under Bread Winner Scheme, as arbitrary and illegal.

The father of the petitioner joined as Conductor on 27.05.1974 in the respondent-Corporation and he died in harness on 19.05.1997, by which date the petitioner was said to be minor. On an application submitted by the mother of the petitioner, some pensionary benefits were granted to her. According to the petitioner, after he became major, he submitted an application to the respondent-Corporation for providing him suitable employment on compassionate grounds. In pursuance thereof, the respondent-Corporation conducted enquiries on 2.3.2015, but he was not provided with any appointment on compassionate grounds. The petitioner also filed copy of the enquiry report regarding the compassionate appointment in this writ petition. Under these circumstances, the respondents are directed to consider the case of the petitioner for appointment on compassionate grounds in terms of Circular dated 2.3.2013 and other rules governing Bread Winner Scheme and pass appropriate orders within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.

As a sequel, Miscellaneous Applications, if any, shall stand closed.
