The present writ petition came to be filed seeking issuance of writ of mandamus declaring the action of respondents in not discharging their duties in Crime No.97 of 2016 of Thonduru Police Station, Kadapa, dated 07.11.2016, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 323, 506, 447, 379 read with Section 34 of IPC and Sections 3(1) (r) & (s), 3(2), (va) of SC/ST POA Act, 2015, as illegal and arbitrary.

Though various grounds are raised, learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer seeking a direction to the respondents to complete the investigation, at the earliest, and file a final report. 4.
Having regard to the submission made across the Bar, the writ petition is disposed of directing the respondents-police to complete the investigation in Crime No. 97 of 2016 of Thonduru Police Station, Kadapa, dated 07.11.2016, and file a final report, in accordance with law, as early as possible, preferably within a period of three to six months from the date of receipt of a copy of the order.
