HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE R.KANTHA RAO W.P.No.12699 of 2015 ORDER:

Heard learned counsel appearing for the petitioners and learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondents 1 and 2.

This Writ Petition is filed seeking to declare the action of the 1st respondent in not disposing of the Consumer Grievance Petition vide CG No.182/2014-15/Kurnool, as illegal and arbitrary. The petitioners sought for termination of Service Agreements by serving notice to the 2nd respondent dated 28.06.2015. They alleged that the 2nd respondent vide proceedings dated 9.9.2014 terminated their service connection by illegally adjusting the consumption deposit lying with it and also other sister concern companies. Thereafter, the petitioners filed Consumer Grievance Petition before the 1st respondent and in the said petition, the petitioners sought direction to the 2nd respondent to refund the sum of Rs.12,93,084/- to the 1st petitioner and Rs.22,70,743/- to the 2nd petitioner and interest accrued on security deposit as per law. The grievance of the petitioners is that the said petition is kept pending since long time without passing any orders.

Under these circumstances, the Writ Petition is disposed of at the stage of admission directing the 1st respondent to dispose of the Consumer Grievance Petition filed by the petitioners within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
