O R D E R

By way of this writ petition, the petitioners sought promotion to the posts of Assistant Executive Officer in Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams, Tirupathi.

Sri P. Harinath Gupta, learned standing counsel for the respondent Devasthanams, states that the writ petition has become infructuous as the petitioners were granted promotion not only to the posts of Assistant Executive Officer but thereafter, to the posts of Deputy Executive Officer.

Sri Venkata Mayur, learned counsel appearing for the second petitioner, does not dispute the fact that his client and the first petitioner were granted the aforestated promotions and concedes that his client is presently working as a Deputy Executive Officer in the service of the respondent Devasthanams. He would however contend that there are certain grievances in relation to the subject promotions which still require to be redressed.

However, perusal of the prayer in this writ petition reflects that the petitioners merely sought a direction for consideration of their cases for promotion to the posts of Assistant Executive Officer. They did not seek any consequential or attendant benefits, including restoration of seniority. In that view of the matter, this Court is of the opinion that the prayer in this writ petition has worked itself out and no further orders are required to be passed herein.

The writ petition is accordingly dismissed as infructuous. This order shall however not preclude the petitioners from seeking redressal

of their grievances, if any, consequent upon their promotion, by way of independent proceedings in accordance with law.
