ORDER:

This writ petition is filed questioning the proceedings dated 04.02.2010 issued by the 1st respondent appointing the 2nd respondent as Election Officer and fixing the Election Schedule in the year 2010. In as much as five years have elapsed, learned counsel for the petitioner does not wish to press the writ petition.

However, considering the fact that certain legal issues have been raised in the writ petition, giving liberty to the learned counsel for the petitioner to raise these issues in appropriate proceedings, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
