Smt. B. Sandhya ... Petitioner And The State of Andhra Pradesh, rep. by its Principal Secrety, Home Department, Secretariat, Velagapudi at Amaravathi, Guntur District and others.

... Respondents COUNSEL FOR PETITIONER : Mr. Vedula Srinivas COUNSEL FOR RESPONDENTS : A.G.P. for Home (A.P.) THE COURT MADE THE FOLLOWING:

ORDER : (per Hon'ble Sri Justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy) This writ petition is filed for the following substantive relief: "..... to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus or any other appropriate Writ, order or orders, direction or directions to direct the respondents to forthwith release Mr. T. Satish Kumar Reddy, who was illegally detained on 07.04.2018 at around 9.00 a.m. at Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, by the officials of the 4th respondent and to pass such other order or orders ....."

At the hearing, it is represented by the learned counsel for both the parties that the alleged detenu was produced before the jurisdictional Magistrate in connection with a criminal case and that he was remanded to the judicial custody.

In the light of this subsequent event, the prayer in the writ petition has become infructuous. However, Sri Vedula Srinivas, learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the alleged detenu was taken into illegal custody high-handedly. Along with the reply affidavit, the C.D. containing CCTV footages have been filed in support of the said submission.

With the arrest and production of the alleged detenu before the jurisdictional Magistrate, the writ petition has out-lived its purpose. If the petitioner or the alleged detenu have got any

grievance about illegal detention, they shall be free to avail appropriate legal remedies before the competent Forum. Subject to the liberty given as above, the writ petition is disposed of as infructuous.
