THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A.RAMALINGESWARA RAO WRIT PETITION Nos.12063, 12086 and 22085 of 2009 COMMON ORDER:
These Writ Petitions are filed challenging the action of the respondents and their subordinate officers in insisting the petitioners to obtain "police permits" and pay Rs.100/- per day per vehicle in respect of the vehicles owned by them in order to ply them in the twin cities of Hyderabad - Secunderabad and Ranga Reddy District. An identical issue was considered by this Court in W.P.No.28764
of 2008 dated 18.06.2004 taking into consideration the denial by the respondents of insisting for such permits, and rejecting such denial by this Court. In view of lack of power to the respondents to issue "police permits", the Writ Petitions were allowed.
In the circumstances, these Writ Petitions are also allowed directing the respondents not to insist the petitioners for payment of the amount towards "police permits", which is not authorized by law. The miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
