THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE A.V.SESHA SAI WRIT PETITION No.12407 OF 2018 ORDER:

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Pleader for Panchayat Raj.

According to the petitioner, he belongs to schedule caste community and got elected as ward member of Serepallam Panchayat in the year, 2013. It is stated that the father of the petitioner, namely, Bandela Andreya was elected as Sarpanch of the said Gram Panchayat in the election conducted in 2013 and the said Bandela Andreya passed away on 27.05.2016. It is further stated that thereafter the Upa Sarpanch of the Gram Panchayat who was authorized to discharge the duties of Sarpanch also passed away.

When the matter is taken up, it is brought to the notice of this Court that, for redressal of the grievance of the petitioner, the petitioner submitted a representation on 02.02.2018 to the 2nd respondent, but no action has been taken. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the 2nd respondent may be directed to verify the said representation and pass appropriate orders.

Having regard to the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner and in view of the facts and circumstances of the case, without going into the merits of the case, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the 2nd respondent to verify the representation dated 02.02.2018 said to have been submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders

within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order as per law. There shall be no order as to costs. Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, in this Writ Petition shall stand closed.
