HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE A. RAMALINGESWARA RAO WRIT PETITION No.5548 of 2017 O R D E R:

This writ petition is filed challenging the action of the respondents in not renewing the arms licence bearing No.A/ 497/ 224/ CTR for the past one year by considering the petitioner's application dated 26.11.2015.

2. The petitioner is possessing a weapon under licence issued about 40 years back and renewed the same from time to time. When the licence was going to expire on 31.12.2015, the petitioner submitted an application dated 26.11.2015 under a prescribed pro-forma to the 2nd respondent for renewing his licence. He states that his family owns vast extent of land in different villages in Chittoor district and there is life threat to him.

3. Though several averments are made in support of the plea of the petitioner and the petitioner is challenging the letter dated 16.12.2016 addressed by the 2nd respondent to the 3rd respondent, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the application of the petitioner for renewal of the licence should be considered in accordance with law and the grievance of the petitioner could be met if a proper direction is issued to the 2nd respondent for consideration of the application of the petitioner.

4. In the circumstances, the writ petition is disposed of, directing the 2nd respondent to consider the application dated 26.11.2015 submitted by the petitioner on 05.12.2015 for renewal of arm's licence which expires on 31.12.2015, in accordance with law, within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No order as

to costs. Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall stand dismissed in consequence.
