Heard both sides. With the consent of both parties the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

The present writ petition came to be filed seeking issuance of writ of mandamus declaring the inaction of respondent No. 3 in conducting and completing the investigation in Crime No.11 of 2017 of Ongole l Town Police Station, Prakasham District, dated 10.01.2017, registered for the offences punishable under Sections 120b, 406, 420 and 477-A of IPC, as illegal and arbitrary.

Though various grounds are raised, learned counsel for the petitioner restricts his prayer seeking a direction to respondent No.3 to complete the investigation, at the earliest, and file a final report. 4.

Learned Government Pleader, on instructions, states that the investigation is still going on and as soon as it is completed, a final report would be filed. 5.

Having regard to the submissions made across the Bar, the writ petition is disposed of directing respondent No.3 to complete the investigation in Crime No.11 of 2017 of Ongole l Town Police Station, Prakasham District, dated 10.01.2017, as early as possible, preferably within a period of three to six months and file a final report, in accordance with law. No costs.
