Heard the counsel for petitioners, the learned Government Pleader for Panchayat Raj for respondent nos.1, 2 and 4, the learned Government Pleader for Revenue, for 3rd respondent, and Sri G. Narender Reddy, for 5th respondent.

In this Writ Petition, the petitioners question the action of respondents in deleting Ramannagudem Thanda and Enemidi Thanda from the proposed list of new Gram Panchayats prepared by respondent nos.2 and 3, and seek a direction to respondent nos.3 to 5 to strictly follow letters dt.17.01.2018 of the 2nd respondent and proceedings dt.18.01.2018 of the 3rd respondent. 3.
Though opportunity to file a counter-affidavit was given and though the Writ has been coming up since April, 2018, counteraffidavit has not been filed. 4.
However, instructions issued to the learned Government Pleader for Panchayat Raj, appearing for respondent nos.1, 2 and 4, were placed before the Court which mention that representations of petitioners were scrutinized by the District Collectors and were submitted to Government through the Commissioner of Panchayat Raj and Rural Employment; the procedure prescribed in the Telangana State Panchayat Raj Act, 2018 for formation of new Gram Panchayats

is mentioned therein, and it is stated that the State Legislature is competent to constitute new Gram Panchayats and the proposals, if any, received will be submitted to the Government for placing before the Legislature for consideration.

Therefore, the respondents are directed to consider the representation dt.20.03.2018 given to the 2nd respondent and the representation dt.06.04.2018 given to the 3rd respondent by the petitioners within a period of four (04) weeks, and communicate their decision thereon to the petitioners.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation dt.20.03.2018 given to the 2nd respondent and the representation dt.06.04.2018 given to the 3rd respondent by the petitioners within a period of four (04) weeks, and communicate their decision thereon to petitioners. No order as to costs.

As a sequel, miscellaneous petitions pending if any in this Writ Petition, shall stand closed.
