THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO CRIMINAL PETITION No.2208 OF 2016 ORDER:

This petition is filed by the petitioners-A2 to A6 under Section 482 Cr.P.C. seeking to quash the proceedings against them in C.C.No.245 of 2011 on the file of the XIII Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Hyderabad.

The petitioners are alleged to have committed the offence punishable under Sections 498-A and 506 IPC and Sections 4 and 6 of the Dowry Prohibition Act r/w Section 34 IPC. After arguing for some time, the learned Counsel for the petitioners submitted that the above C.C. pertains to the year 2011 and that the petitioners are ready to face the trial and therefore, a direction may be given to the trial Court to dispose of the case expeditiously. He further prayed for dispensing with the presence of the petitioners before the trial Court.

In view of the above submission, the trial Court is directed to dispose of the above C.C. as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The presence of the petitioners-A2 to A6 before the trial Court is dispensed with till disposal of the above C.C., except on the dates when their presence is specifically required by the trial Court. The petitioners are directed to be represented through their Counsel before the trial Court on all hearing dates.
