Heard learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Government Pleader for Revenue appearing for R2, 3 and 6, learned Government Pleader for Land Acquisition appearing for R4, and Sri S.S.Varma, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent Nos.1 and 5.
It is the case of the petitioners herein that the respondentauthorities passed an award on 31.07.2017 fixing the compensation, under the provisions of the National Highways Act, 1956 (for brevity, 'the Act') and disputing the quantum of compensation awarded, petitioners herein submitted an application, dated 26.12.2017, to the third respondent but no action has been taken so far.
Having heard the learned counsel on either side, this Court, in the facts and circumstances of the case, deems it appropriate to dispose of the Writ Petition, directing the respondent-authorities to consider the application, dated 26.12.2017, said to have been submitted by the petitioners herein, under Section 3 (G) (5) of the Act, and pass orders as expeditiously as possible.
Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
As a sequel thereto, the miscellaneous petitions in this Writ Petition, if any, shall stand closed.
