ORDER

This writ petition is filed challenging the action of the 3rd respondent in interfering with the personal life and liberty of the petitioner and pressurizing him to pay Rs.10,00,000/- to respondents Nos.4 to 6.

A counter-affidavit is filed on behalf of respondents 1 to 3 to the effect that except the factum of registration of crime No.84 of 2016 on 12.7.2016, all other the allegations including the one that the 3rd respondent called the petitioner to the police station on 15.2.2017 and on 20.12.2016 and threatened him to pay an amount of Rs.10,00,000/-, are denied. It is stated that based on the complaint of the 7th respondent, the crime was registered and investigation is in progress.

In view of the aforesaid averments in the counter-affidavit, no further orders are necessary in this writ petition. Accordingly, the writ petition is closed. However, it is made clear that during the course of investigation, the 3rd respondent shall follow the due process of law. No costs.
