This writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking a writ of Mandamus declaring the high-handed action of the respondents in acquiring the petitioner's land, in Award No.2/2016-17, dated 13.5.2016 passed by the fourth respondent, without paying compensation to the petitioner, as illegal and arbitrary. 2.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Government Pleader for Land Acquisition.

The case of the petitioner is that he is the owner of an extent of in an extent of Acs.1.20 cents, out of Acs.3.00, in survey No.422 of Muddanur Village and Mandal, Kadapa District. It is his further case that the Government has acquired the said land, without following due process of law. A perusal of the record reveals that the petitioner submitted a representation on 01.7.2016 to the fourth respondent. For one reason or the other, the fourth respondent did not dispose of the representation of the petitioner.

At the time of arguments, the only relief sought by the learned counsel for the petitioner is to direct the fourth respondent to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 01.7.2016 in accordance with law. In view of the said submission, this Court is not inclined to go into merits of the main case.

Having regard to the facts and circumstances of the case, the fourth respondent is directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 01.7.2016, in accordance with law, as expeditiously as

possible, preferably within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. Miscellaneous petitions if any pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
