THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTI CE SANJAY KUMAR CONTEMPT CASE No.1281 of 2016 ORDER:

This contempt case was instituted alleging wilful disobedience to the order dated 13.10.2015 passed by this Court in W.P.M.P.No.13381 of 2014 in W.P.No.1535 of 2017. By the said order, this Court directed the Commissioner, Nandyal Municipality, to pay the amount of Rs.19,386/- and the arrears, if any, in terms of the Memo dated 16.08.2012 within a time frame.

Smt.M.Siva Jyothi, learned counsel for the petitioner, would inform this Court that after the institution of this contempt case, the arrears of Rs.2,06,404/- for the period from September, 2016 to October, 2017 were paid by the petitioner. She would further state that the payments due for November and December, 2017 have also been cleared. In that view of the matter, though there appears to be some delay on the part of the respondents in complying with the order passed by this Court, no grounds are made out for exercise of contempt jurisdiction. The contempt case is accordingly closed leaving it open to the petitioner to take necessary steps afresh if and when occasion arises. No order as to costs.
