O R D E R

The prayer of the petitioners in this case is as under: 'It is prayed that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to issue appropriate writ, order or direction, more particularly, a Writ of Mandamus, declaring the action of the respondents in not considering the petitioners applications for selection and allotment of houses, under the NTR House construction scheme (NTR Grameena housing scheme,) and I.A.Y scheme, as illegal, arbitrary and unjust, consequently to direct the respondents to consider the petitioner's case for allotment of the house site and construction of the houses under the schemes and pass such other and further orders in the interest of Justice.' Sri D.Sudarshan Reddy, learned counsel for the petitioners, would assert that no order of rejection has been communicated to any of the petitioners in relation to their applications for benefit under the NTR Housing Construction (NTR Grameena Housing) Scheme and I.A.Y. Scheme, 2015-16.

In that view of the matter, this Court is of the opinion that no purpose is served by entertaining the writ petition for adjudication on merits as the authority concerned is yet to apply its mind to the petitioners' applications for benefit under the aforestated schemes.

The writ petition is therefore disposed of directing the authorities concerned to consider the petitioners' applications, if not already disposed of, in the light of the relevant schemes and take appropriate action thereon in accordance with law. In the event the petitioners' applications are rejected, the reasons therefor shall be recorded and duly communicated to them.

This entire exercise shall be completed expeditiously and in any event, not later than six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Pending miscellaneous petitions shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
