THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE VILAS V.AFZULPURKAR W.P.No.4662 OF 2016 ORDER:

The petitioner claims that she is a nominee under the policy of her deceased husband bearing No.645035611. The petitioner states that she was not aware of the existence of policy and assured amount. The husband of the petitioner is stated to have died in an accident on 11-03-2004 and as the petitioner recently came to know of the said policy, through her mother-in-law, she has filed a claim petition before the 2nd respondent on 24-04-2013 and since no action is taken, a legal notice is stated to have been issued on her behalf to respondents 1 and 2 on 28-10-2015. Alleging that even now no action is being taken on the said claim petition, the present writ petition is filed.

Heard Sri Bathula Raj Kumar, learned Standing Counsel for respondents 1 and 2.

In view of the fact that the petitioner's claim petition for release of benefits in her favour under the policy aforesaid is pending consideration before the 2nd respondent since 24-04-2013, it is appropriate to direct the 2nd respondent to examine the said claim petition and communicate appropriate decision to the petitioner expeditiously preferably within two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, pending shall stand closed. _______________________ VILAS V.AFZULPURKAR, J 15.02.2016 Prv
