This writ petition is filed seeking to declare the action of the respondents in seizing the Goods Vehicle Mahindra & Mahindra Jeeto X7-16-BSIV, bearing registration No.
TS 05 UB 2671 belonging to the petitioners, as illegal and arbitrary.

The case of the petitioners is that their goods vehicle bearing registration No. TS 05 UB 2671 was seized on 23.02.2017, on the ground of violation of the provisions of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (for short, 'the Act') and he made a representation for release of the said vehicle. As no orders are passed yet on the said representation, the present writ petition is filed.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioners and the learned Government Pleader for Civil Supplies. 4.
No useful purpose will be served in keeping the vehicle idle pending enquiry under Section 6-A of the Act and the same will get spoiled.

In view of the same, respondent No.3 is directed to release the said goods vehicle to the petitioners, pending
AVSS,J W.P.No.7429 of 2017 enquiry under Section 6-A of the Act, on furnishing security to his satisfaction within a period of two weeks from today. 6.
