THE HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO CRIMINAL PETITION No.2555 of 2016 ORDER:

This Criminal Petition, under Section 482 Cr.P.C., is filed by the petitioner - Respondent No.1 seeking to quash the proceedings initiated against him in DVC No.48 of 2012 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate of First Class, Mancherial, Adilabad. Heard and perused the material available on record. The 1st respondent is the wife of the petitioner. Their marriage was performed in the year 2008. She filed the present complaint against the petitioner and others seeking certain reliefs under the provisions of Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act. The allegations against the petitioner are that he along with his family members harassed the 1st respondent demanding additional dowry and also sent her out from the matrimonial house and he married another woman in the year 2012.

The allegations levelled against the petitioner are so serious in nature. Hence, this Court is not inclined to quash the proceedings against the petitioner in the above DVC.

Accordingly, the Criminal Petition is dismissed. Miscellaneous petitions pending if any, shall stand closed. ______________ RAJA ELANGO, J February 26, 2016.
