THE HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN AND THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE M.SATYANARAYANA MURTHY Contempt Case Nos.560, 561 and 671 of 2016 COMMON ORDER: (Per the Hon'ble The Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan) The orders, violation of which are alleged in these contempt cases, are the interlocutory orders passed by this Court. All the writ petitions, wherein the aforesaid interlocutory orders were passed, were disposed of later; and the final orders are said to have been complied with.

While Sri Siva, learned counsel for the petitioner in C.C.No.560 of 2016, would submit that the substance of the letter, addressed by the Secretary (Revenue) to the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, is, in effect, a direction to the latter not to comply with the interlocutory orders of this Court, we see no reason to examine internal correspondence between the Secretary (Revenue) and the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes to determine whether or not there was an attempt to overreach the orders of this Court. Suffice it to observe that, since the writ petitions have been finally disposed of, the interlocutory orders, violation of which are alleged in these contempt cases, do not survive. We see no reason, therefore, to proceed against the respondents under the Contempt of Courts Act for violation of the interlocutory orders passed earlier. All the three Contempt Cases are, accordingly, closed. Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall also stand closed.
