HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE ABHINAND KUMAR SHAVILI WRIT PETITION No. 12506 of 2002 ORDER:

This writ petition is filed by the Petitioner Corporation seeking to issue a writ of mandamus declaring the action of the 1st respondent in issuing the proceedings dated 01.05.2002 refusing to accept the proposal of the 2nd respondent for promoting the petitioner as Junior Lecturer from the post of Librarian, as illegal and arbitrary. A consequential direction is also to promote the petitioner as Junior Lecturer in the 2nd respondent college as per G.O.Ms.No.203, Education (CE.III) Department, dated 18.06.1999. Heard Mr. M. Sudheer Kumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the record.

When the matter is taken up for hearing, it is noticed that while admitting the writ petition, this Court passed an interim order dated 29.07.2002 in WPMP No.15540 of 2002 directing the 1st respondents to permit the 2nd respondent to promote the petitioner as Junior Lecturer in Telugu, if he is eligible, within eight weeks. It is also noticed that the petitioner has retired from service during pendency of the writ petition. In view of the same, no further orders are necessary in the writ petition.

Accordingly, the writ petition is closed. Consequently, miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in the writ petition shall stand closed. No order as to costs.
