The grievance of the petitioners in this case was that the police authorities were interfering in the civil disputes pending between them and respondents 3 to 5.

The Inspector of Police, Rural Police Station, Hindupur, Anantapur District, filed a counter-affidavit denying the allegations levelled by the petitioners. He stated that no complaint had been received and no criminal case was registered against the petitioners on the file of Hindupur Rural Police Station and in the absence therefore, the police summoning the petitioners to the police station did not arise. He further stated that the dispute of the petitioners with respondents 3 to 5 was purely civil in nature and that the police were not concerned with the same.

This counter-affidavit was filed as long back as on 20.06.2012 but the petitioners did not choose to rebut the averments made therein by way of a reply-affidavit.

Accepting the stand put forth by the police authorities, the writ

petition is closed.

Pending miscellaneous petitions, if any, shall also stand closed. No order as to costs.
