O R D E R:- This writ petition is filed for the following substantive relief:
"..... to issue a writ, order or direction more particularly one in the nature of writ of mandamus, directing the 3rd respondent to send Mr.Turaka Ravindranath, S/o. T.Ramesh, aged about 29 years to Singamanenipalli, H/o.Kondareddypalem Village, Voletivaripalem Mandal, Prakasam District to perform 10th, 11th and 12th day ceremonies of his late father Mr.T.Ramesh scheduled to be held on 23rd, 24th and 25 of July, 2016 if necessary by giving escort to him."
It is averred in the affidavit that the father of the accused i.e. Turaka Ravindranath died on 14.07.2016. Thus, he has to perform last rituals of his father on 23rd, 24th and 25th of July, 2016. It is admitted case that T.Ravindranath is involved in around 50 criminal cases registered under different provisions and list of the same is placed on record as Ex.P2 at page No.10.
Sri J.U.M.V.Prasad, learned counsel for the petitioner, has submitted that 25th day of July, 2016 is the last day on which main ritual has to be observed and T.Ravindranath may be allowed to attend the ritual under police custody. Considering the averments made in the writ affidavit
and the submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, this Court is inclined to dispose of the writ petition with the following direction:
"The 3rd respondent - Superintendent, Central Jail, Cherlapalli, Ranga Reddy District is directed to allow T.Ravindranath, S/o.T.Ramesh to Singamanenipalli, H/o.Kondareddypalem Village, Voletivaripalem Mandal, Prakasam District to attend last day ceremony of his late father Mr.T.Ramesh on 25.07.2016 between 11:30 A.M. to 04:00 P.M. under police escort/custody."
With the above direction, this writ petition is disposed of. No order as to costs.
As a sequel to the disposal of the writ petition, Miscellaneous Petitions, if any pending, shall stand disposed of as infructuous.
