Heard. With the consent of both counsel, the writ petition is disposed of at the admission stage.

On the allegation of illegal sale of fuel, petitioner was placed under suspension by order dated 02.11.2010.

Criminal proceedings were also initiated against the petitioner. The trial Court convicted the petitioner vide judgment in C.C.No.288 of 2011 dated 13.07.2012 on the file of I-Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Hyderabad. Based on the conviction, petitioner was dismissed from service. Order of dismissal was challenged before Andhra Pradesh Administrative Tribunal in O.A.No.4586 of 2013. Based on the orders of the Tribunal dated 21.06.2013 petitioner was reinstated into service, but was placed under suspension. The order of suspension was again challenged by the petitioner in O.A.No.5351 of 2013. The Tribunal vide its order dated 15.07.2013 suspended the suspension order dated 04.07.2013. Based on the orders of the Tribunal, suspension was revoked and petitioner retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation on 31.08.2013.

Aggrieved by the conviction, petitioner preferred appeal on the file of Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge for trial of Communal Offence Cases cum VII Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Hyderabad. The appellate Court acquitted the petitioner vide judgment in Crl.A.No.650 of dated 25.04.2016. After the acquittal, petitioner submitted detailed representation on 24.08.2016 followed by reminders on

17.12.2016 and 19.12.2016 to grant him all benefits. Alleging that so far the representations are not acted upon, and as a consequence to the decision of the appellate Court acquitting the petitioner, consequential benefits are not granted to him, this writ petition is filed.

When the matter is taken up, learned Government pleader fairly submits that since the representations are pending with the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of Police, a direction be issued to dispose of the representations within a fixed time frame.

Having regard to the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on merits, the Director General of Police-2nd respondent is directed to consider the representation dated 17.12.2016 and pass appropriate orders as warranted by law, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of four (4) weeks, from the date of receipt of copy of this order. There shall be no order as to costs.

Miscellaneous petitions, if any, pending in this writ petition shall stand closed.
