Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and Sri M.A.Muzeeb, learned Standing Counsel for 2nd respondent.

Petitioner's grievance is that petitioner had been placed in suspension in the year 2013 and an Enquiry Officer has been appointed to conduct enquiry into the allegations against him by the 2nd respondent but the said Enquiry Officer had retired on 31-03-2016 and thereafter 2nd respondent has not appointed any Enquiry Officer even though almost four months have elapsed since the retirement of the earlier Enquiry Officer.

Sri M.A.Muzeeb, learned Standing Counsel for 2nd respondent states that the 2nd respondent will take steps to appoint Enquiry Officer to conclude the enquiry initiated against the petitioner.

Therefore, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing 2nd respondent to appoint the Enquiry Officer within one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order to conclude the enquiry initiated against the petitioner. No costs.

As a sequel, the miscellaneous petitions, if any pending, shall stand closed.
