Heard.

2. The grievance of the petitioners in this writ petition is that in spite of directions given by the Collector to the Superintendent of Police, Guntur, dated 28.02.2015 and a request made by the Tahsildar, Santhamagulur to the Station House Officer on 09.03.2015, petitioners are not provided protection to enable them to reap the crops raised by them in their lands. Petitioners allege that there is a criminal case pending in which petitioners are implicated.

However, to the extent of harvesting of their crops in their lands, they are being continuously obstructed by villagers and others and, as such, sought police protection.

3. Instructions of the learned Government Pleader, show that in compliance of the directions of the District Collector, the Station House Officer along with the revenue authorities visited petitioners' field on 05.03.2015 and 06.03.2015 for providing protection, but the petitioners had not arranged the machineries for reaping the crop. It is also stated that as and when petitioners want to reap their crops, respondent police are ready to give protection.

4. In view of the above, the grievance of the petitioners does not any more subsist.

Writ petition is accordingly, disposed of. Petitioners are at liberty to seek protection as and when they desire to harvest the crops and the respondent police shall provide necessary assistance. As a sequel, the miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
