HCJ & Dr.SA, J W.P.No.16561 of 2019 Dt: 07-08-2019 Order: (per Hon'ble The Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan) Mr. Gurrampally Praveen Kumar, the petitioner, has filed the present Habeas Corpus petition ostensibly on the ground that his wife, namely Mrs. Gurrampally Akshitha, (for short 'the detenue') has gone missing on 18-05-2019. Despite the fact that he has been looking for his wife, he is unable to trace her whereabouts. Even when he contacted the respondent Nos. 7 and 8, the brother and the sister of the detenue, they did not give any satisfactory answer. Hence, the present writ petition before this Court.

On 05-08-2019, this Court had directed Mr. Sripathi Santosh Kumar, the learned Government Pleader for Home, to produce the detenue before the Court. Consequently, today, the detenue, Mrs. Akshitha, has been produced before this Court. This Court has spoken to the detenue. She informs this Court that she was married to the petitioner on 23-01-2015 according to the Hindu rites and customs. During her marriage, she has given birth to a child. She further informs this Court that due to the severe cruelty inflicted upon her by the petitioner, she left her matrimonial home out of her own volition. Therefore, she has no desire to go back to the petitioner. She further informs this Court that she does not wish to live with her brother or her

HCJ & Dr.SA, J W.P.No.16561 of 2019 Dt: 07-08-2019 sister, respondent Nos. 7 and 8 respectively. According to her, presently, she is being housed at Sakhi Center. The Sakhi Center has promised her that they will teach her how to become a beautician. Therefore, she would rather like to learn the said trade to make herself economically independent by opening up her own beauty saloon. Therefore, she prays that she should be sent back to the Sakhi Center so that she can update her skills. Lastly, she informs this Court that she is a major. Considering the fact that the detenue is major, considering the fact that she does not wish to resume cohabitation with the petitioner, considering the fact that she does not wish to return to her paternal family, this Court directs the respondent No.

6, the Station House Officer, Shamshabad Police Station, to re-house the detenue, Mrs. Akshitha, with the Sakhi center. The Sakhi Center is directed to ensure that she is taught a trade or profession of her liking as expeditiously as possible.
