This writ petition is filed seeking to issue a writ of mandamus declaring the inaction of the respondent in issuing orders to retire the petitioner under voluntary retirement scheme, as illegal and arbitrary. Since the petitioner had retired from service during pendency of the writ petition, the cause in the writ petition does not survive. Therefore, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous.
