This Writ Petition is filed seeking writ of mandamus declaring the action of the first respondent in not reviewing the remuneration as is being done in the case of other contractual/out sourced employees periodically and enhanced the same to Rs.40,270/- per month vide G.O.Rt.No.149, dated 01.06.2017 and paying only meagre amount to the Mentors at Rs.8,000/- per month as illegal and arbitrary and consequently to direct the 1st respondent to enhance the remuneration to the post of Mentor.

It is the case of the petitioners that they are all working as Mentors on contract basis from the years 2006, 2007 and 2008 onwards in the Government Degree Colleges drawing fixed remuneration of Rs.8,000/- vide G.O.Rt.No.569, dated 25.07.2007. Even though they are discharging their duties on par with regular lecturers and they are entitled for minimum time scales of pay, they are being paid only Rs.8,000/- per month. They have made representation dated 23.12.2016 to consider their case for enhancement of salaries on par with regular employees.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Assistant Government Pleader for Services.

A perusal of the representation dated 23.12.2016 submitted by the petitioners is given by an association. The petitioners

ought to have given individual representations ventilating their grievances.
