HONOURABLE SRI JUSTICE RAJA ELANGO WRIT PETITION No.35607 of 2016 ORDER:
This writ petition is filed seeking to call for the records relating to Crime No.74 of 2016, on the file of the 2nd respondent and to quash the same.
Heard and perused the material available on record. The case of the petitioners is that the 3rd respondent has lodged a complaint before the 2nd respondent, which was registered as Crime No.74 of 2016 alleging that her marriage was done with 1st petitioner/A-1 on 24.01.2011 and her parents gave dowry of Rs.2,60,000/- and 6 tulas of gold to A-1 and his parents. After marriage, they lived happily for three months. Later, A-1 along with his family members started harassing the 3rd respondent mentally and physically by demanding additional dowry. The grievance of the petitioners is that the 2nd respondent is trying to arrest them. Considering the grievance of the petitioners, the 2nd respondent is directed to complete the investigation in Crime No.74 of 2016, as expeditiously as possible and file a final report, if any, either way in accordance with law, without arresting the petitioners. Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs. Pending Miscellaneous Petitions, if any, shall stand closed. ____________________ RAJA ELANGO, J Date: 21st October, 2016 KL
