This Writ Petition is filed seeking a writ of mandamus declaring the action of the respondents in not considering the case of the petitioners for absorption in any suitable post in APSRTC, as arbitrary and illegal and consequently direct the respondents to appoint the petitioners in any suitable post forthwith. 2.

Heard Sri S.M.Subhan, learned counsel for the petitioners and Sri P.Durga Prasad, learned Standing Counsel for the respondent-Corporation.

It has been contended by the petitioners that they have discharged their duties in private bus service and consequent upon nationalization of rules their services were discontinued by the private bus operators. The respondent-Corporation has taken a policy decision to provide employment to displaced workers of private bus operators and the petitioners have also submitted a representation on 20.12.2001 to consider their cases for absorption in any suitable post. But, so far the respondents have not passed any orders on the said representation. 4.

Learned Standing Counsel for the respondent-Corporation contended that appropriate orders would be passed on the representation submitted by the petitioners.

In view of the rival submissions made by both parties, this Court is of the considered view that this Writ Petition can be

disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation said to have been submitted by the petitioners. 6.

Accordingly, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the representation, dated 20.12.2001, said to have been submitted by the petitioners, within a period of four

(4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Miscellaneous petitions pending, if any, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
