THE HON'BLE SRI JUSTICE C. PRAVEEN KUMAR WRIT PETITION No.22655 of 2017 ORDER:

This Writ Petition, under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, came to be filed seeking to declare the inaction of the second respondent in considering the representation dated 28.03.2017 seeking change in the name of the 2nd petitioner-High School, as illegal and arbitrary.

Heard the learned counsel for the petitioners as well as the learned Assistant Government Pleader for School Education. With their consent, the Writ Petition is disposed of at the stage of admission itself.

Though various grounds are raised in the writ petition, the learned counsel for the petitioners restricts his prayer, seeking a direction to the second respondent to consider the representation dated 28.03.2017 seeking change in the name of the second petitioner-High School, at the earliest.

Learned Government Pleader would submit that the second respondent may be directed to dispose of the representation dated 28.03.2017, if the same is still pending consideration. Having regard to the above, the Writ Petition is disposed of directing the second respondent to deal with the representation dated 28.03.2017, seeking change in the name of the second petitioner, in accordance with law, as early as possible, preferably within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

Miscellaneous petitions pending in this writ petition, if any, shall stand closed. No costs.
