A.Uma v. University Grants Commission,
HON'BLE THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RAMESH RANGANATHAN Writ Petition No.13255 of 2009 ORDER:
The relief sought for in this Writ Petition is to declare the action of the A.P. State Council of Higher Education, in issuing a letter dated 28.01.2009 and in not approving the candidature of the petitioner for admission made under the 20% management quota by the 4th respondent-College for the academic year 2008-09 on the ground that the petitioner obtained the basic degree from Janardhan Rai Nagar Rajasthan Vidhyapeet, Udayapur University, as arbitrary and illegal.
By an interim order dated 03.07.2009, the respondents were directed to receive the petitioner's application which was made subject to further orders of this Court. The admission, which the petitioner sought, was to prosecute a B.Ed.course, the duration of which is of two years. Even if the petitioner had been admitted, she would have completed her course by 2011, more than six years ago. It is evident, therefore, that the cause in the Writ Petition does not survive necessitating any further adjudication by this Court, and the Writ Petition has become infructuous.
The Writ Petition is, accordingly, dismissed as infructuous. The Miscellaneous Petitions pending, if any, shall also stand dismissed. No order as to costs.
